Henrik Friis | Ephemera - won a norwegean Grammy | |
| Don Johnson Big Band - all four of them... | | Baby Woodrose is currently back from the first half of the band’s spring tour of Europe, and while the three of them are spending their time in the studio fine-tuning the new album, the time has come for their announcement as participants for this year’s SPOT 10. The same goes for the Norwegian girl’s group Ephemera, who this weekend – for the second year in a row – won the Norwegian “Spellemansprisen” (Norway’s music award) entitled Pop Group of the Year and at the same time received the Norwegian P3-award for this year’s radio hit song “Girls Keep Secret”. On top of this, the Finnish quartet Don Johnson Big Band joins in with a handful of shining new medals of honour – two Finnish awards for “Best Song” and “Best Hip Hop/Dance Album” respectively.
Other performers are Nikolaj Nørlund & Rhonda Harris, First Floor Power (S), Silver (N), Stomped, Rag City Dolls, Ben Horn (DK/N), Utah, Tys Tys, Static & Nat Ill, The Burning Primitive, Jogujo Circuit, Serras, Mellophone and Magnet(N).
Tiger Tunes is doing their first gig in ages at SPOT 10 – after having done several abroad during the spring – and finally the hip hop artist Zaki will be performing at the festival. He was the subject of conversation in the fall when he was excluded from the Christiania album because of a song about the Danes’ treatment of immigrants – as seen through the eyes of Zaki.
More SPOT 10 bands will be published in the near future.
